Yea. Emailing the teachers. It was great fun. First of all, I don't know why I am so intimidated by teachers. I am a adult. Fairly successful, if I do say so myself. And still I can't get over whatever inferiority complex I have.
So, at the committee meeting last night, I announce that I have sent out the emails to the teachers inviting them to our Saturday evening event. I proceed to announce that several have RSVP-ed, both yes and no (although the no's have been outweighing the yes responses). I look up to see several blank stares looking back at me.
"You were supposed to invite the teachers to the Saturday Afternoon Open House."
Whoops.
(1) I thought the teachers were already in the know about the Saturday Afternoon Open House. I mean, that's what our Alumni advisor had said. Why would I need to invite them to an event that they were already aware of?
(2) If someone said to you, "Make sure you invite the teachers to the thing on Saturday", wouldn't YOU have assumed the Saturday night event?
So, here's to me feeling like an ass amongst my classmates. AGAIN. Awesome. What have I been doing these past 10 years? CLEARLY, I HAVEN'T STOPPED BEING AN IDIOT.
At the end of the day, it was a lovely gesture for me to invite them, and they probably won't come out in droves for this event (which is good, I mean, who is going to pay for them to eat our sliders and spanikopita?)
But seriously, KP. Seriously. So much for overcoming that inferiority complex. This reunion weekend should be a real blast.
