Dinner #3

Restaurant #3 was absolutely wonderful. I had heard several rave reviews of this place from my coworkers, and they were on point! Everything was so delicious. Unfortunately, my father had to work, so it was just me, the Hubs, and my mom for dinner. Having all three of us there and order different things worked out wonderfully, and I was able to sample so much of the menu! Here's what we had:

First Course: Hubs got the butternut squash soup. It was very autumn-like, with complex flavors of spice. Very good. Mom got the salad, which was also very nice. The vinaigrette had an excellent flavor. Also very good. I am sorry I didn't pay too much attention to their choices, because I had the fried green tomatoes, and they were incredible. They were seasoned just right, and the breading was crisp and fried. The dish was served with a spicy aoili, which was the perfect compliment. I was thrilled with my choice. They really were SO. GOOD.

Second Course: Mom ordered the salmon. It was a little spicy, served over a bed of rice pilaf. It was alright, but I can't tell you more about it, because I only snagged one bite. Hubs ordered the chicken, which was seasoned and roasted to perfection. It was served with sweet potatoes and a duck stock reduction. The sweet potatoes were not too sweet, and the duck stock reduction added a richness to the meal. It was very tasty. I ordered the sirloin (do you realize all three nights out, I have had beef?!?!). The sirloin was tender and well seasoned. The garlic potatoes were also perfection. The broccolini was a bit under cooked for me (it could have been steamed maybe 10 more seconds). Overall, everything was wonderful.

Third Course: Dessert, my favorite! I ordered the key lime tart - it was sweet and exceptionally tart, served with a hearty dollop of whipped cream. It was the perfect lime flavor. The Hubs and mom ordered the white chocolate bread pudding, which, according to both of them, was divine. The bread pudding was rich and flavorful, topped with a caramel sauce. It was hard to taste both desserts, since the flavors were so distinct from each other.

This is one place I am dying to go for a nice meal sometime after Restaurant Week. Everything was so delish, and I am so glad I got to try out three new places this week!
