Excuse my extended absence. Again. I keep thinking my work hours will get better. And they don't. Of course.
I would have written this weekend, except I was at the Guinea - WOP Wedding of the Century. In New Jersey. Ew.
Also, sorry if I have offended you with my use of Guinea, WOP or New Jersey. I myself am a Guinea WOP, but I have no excuse for New Jersey.
My cousin, Biggie, married the girl of his dreams, finally, after being engaged for two years.
The whole family went, N included. Which meant we dressed her up all fancy-like:
Playing with my new baby Cole Haans - my first designer gift from Grandma!
Dressed Up Family Portrait!
It was great to see almost the whole family (missed, you AK!), and the wedding was actually a lot classier than I expected. Secretly, I was envisioning a kind of "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" meets "The Sopranos" affair, but it was actually quite nice.
With Auntie B - So Pretty!
N handled the trip very well - the ride up we had no problems, and N was able to hang late into the night both Thursday for the rehearsal dinner and Friday for the wedding/reception. Unfortunately, both these late nights, paired with the long (LONG) drive home and the insane traffic (Saturday was the beginning of Spring Break), we had some major meltdowns in the car. Thankfully, we are all home now, and things are getting back to normal.
So, that's what we were up to this weekend. I am still struggling to find my work-life balance, and please bear with me as I work through this.
PS - Did you all see Modern Family tonight? Hilarious, as usual! I choked on my cookie.
Good to hear from you! And might I just say, those little gold shoes are ALMOST as cute as that gorgeous little girl herself! I love seeing pics of her, she's so cute. The picture of the three of you turned out awesome, all three smiling and looking at the camera? Score! And welcome back from dirty jerz, it's always a bonus to escape unscathed.
