Better Late Than Never!

Sorry to be so late on the "Happy Easter" train!

We had a great Easter, and, like others, found that Easter is the Christmas of the Spring!  We must have gone cheap-o, because the Hubs and I only got N a small felt basket (thank you, Target Dollar Spot), with a few books (again, Dollar Spot), and a small stuffed bunny (Old Navy, hey, it's a small step up).  The in-laws mailed their basket, as I mentioned, and N also received baskets at my parents house from them an also my Grandmother.  Oh, and my parent's neighbor had gifts for her too.  But that was an adorable playground ball that looked like a ladybug, and we hijacked that almost immediately to go play four-square after the dinner feast (so. much. food. to burn off).  We are a classy bunch, stealing toys from kids.

Of course I used my camera to snap some photos, but only of my kid. I was too enamored to mess with the baskets or anything else. Give me a break. She was in an EASTER DRESS (which, obviously if you are a girl, you know that is VERY SPECIAL)

Oh, and Bunny Ears.  Might have forgotten to mention that one.
She's gonna kill me when she realizes that, hehe.

Overall, it was a great day, and we love spending time with my family. It was also a great weekend for me because I made a list of everything I wanted to take care of this weekend, and it actually got done. That is HUGE. This weekend, in addition to the Easter Madness, here is what I did:

- clean my closet
-clean N's room and pack away the tiny clothes that I keep trying to stuff her into
-make my famous Easter Bread (no pictures, sorry, you'll have to wait till next year!)
-inspired, I dyed Easter eggs with this method from Martha
-go to Mass on Sunday Morning with the fam

It was the first time in a long time I have had a weekend without working, much less a weekend where I managed to take care of everything on the to-do list. So the Hubs and I rewarded ourselves with a visit to the Richmond Earthday Festival, where we had a good time, actually learned a few things, and enjoyed some beer.  Sounds like a win-win-WIN. And it was.

It's back to work for me (which has it's own set of issues that is monopolizing my time again, and I promise to disclose all when the time is right!)

Here's one more picture for good measure :)

Again, hope everyone had a Happy Easter!

  1. we were apparently living parallel lives this past weekend. but you got to buy a DRESS! And an adorable one at that. And if she's gonna kill you for a simple set of bunny ears (which btw were quite the rage with the under 1 set this year) then I fear for what Gabe will do to me once he realizes what I've done and continue to do to him with the costumes. I really hope he has a good sense of humor. Fingers crossed!
