Well, truth is, I have no idea how N feels about it. I am excited enough for the two of us, so it counts.
I have every intention of getting up early, putting some princess clothes on my kid, and watching the Royal Spectacle and all the associated media coverage I can stand.
Perhaps I will eat some scones and tea as well. Who knows.
It's not that I am obsessed with princesses (I am), or I am really just in it to see the Royal Wedding Dress (again, I am). The Hubs and I were talking last night, and he made an excellent point - the British people have such a sense of national pride associated with this affair, and that is kind of impressive! We spent some time trying to think of an American event that conjures up the same passion in people here, but we couldn't think of anything (we were not including funerals, people come out in droves for state funerals).
Besides. Every girl wants to be a princess. True fact. At some point in any girl's life, she has contemplated being a princess, and decided, hey, this gig wouldn't be half bad. And HOW LUCKY is Kate Middleton? Seriously.
Are you all doing anything special for the wedding? I would have LOVED to thrown a Princess Party, complete with tiaras (and cake. Not a party without cake), but I have a feeling the Hubs would object to having guests at that hour in the morning. What are your plans?
I am TOTALLY excited!! Not excited enough to get up at 4 am, but excited enough to carve out some weekend time to watch the DVR'd version. :):):)
ReplyDeleteNot to go all political but the Brits get in a frenzy about a celebratory occasion at the same time we Americans (not all of us!!) create a s&*! show over our President's birth certificate. Let's you, me, and N move to London...at least for a bit!
