Due to my current "condition", I haven't been able to stay awake long enough to engage in anything exciting to tell you about. So, here's a list of things that I have been thinking about and other stuff to catch you up on:
I am officially 35 weeks (and one day). Which means I will do everything in my power to begin an official "eviction" process in 2 weeks. I know, kid probably needs to bake more, etc. I think it's pretty close to ready, and I guess we'll find out how that all goes sometime after Labor Day (the actual holiday...not my "personal" labor day).
We did the first part of our childbirth class on Saturday. For five and a half hours, we listened to some British lady (with slightly malformed fingers...which didn't bother me until she started touching me...) talk about relaxation techniques on incredibly uncomfortable chairs. Between the accent and the fingers, it's safe to say I didn't absorb ANYTHING AT ALL. Success. The Hubs and I decided we could have learned the same information in the span of one hour, and we are dreading going back next week. I could be sleeping instead.
We have the hospital tour tomorrow evening. I am not necessarily looking forward to that as much as I am curious. I think it will be nice to know the hospital protocol, etc. One more thing I can "control" through out this whole process, and one more thing I can feel better about.
I am incredibly jealous of Mrs. 5C's recent 15-minute-job project this past weekend. I need to do, like, 100 of these. I could probably handle the 15-minute-jobs...but I think all the things I need to do involve a forklift and day-laborers. Dammit. I can live vicariously through other people's organization though. Yay, Type A!
Shannon had her baby! And I must have known, in a creepy-Internet-stalker kind of way, because I emailed her on the day she actually had the baby with well wishes and warm fuzzies.
The Hubs' birthday is this week, and I am sure to drop the ball again this year, because I am the worst wife ever. Actually, since we're doing birthdays low-key this year, I think I will just take him somewhere for a delicious crab feast. He's been talking about crab legs a lot lately, and I don't know too many places in RVA where they are readily available...anyone?
We chose a date for the baby's baptism. I am very much looking forward to this. I don't know why.- Speaking of celebrations, both my friends JK and Dr.T have set dates for their winter weddings - one in January, one in February!. I am excited, and also looking for babysitters, should anyone be interested :) This brings the total to 4 upcoming celebrations (Lust's wedding in November, and my cousin's in April). I don't even know what my friends and I are going to do come March - we have been seeing the whole group at least once a month for quite a while now (between bridal showers and bachelorette parties and weddings), it will take some getting used to, that's for sure.
I got to the bottom of OtherSister's immensely useful gift that apparently you can not live without: it's a pacifier clip. I honestly have no real emotions about this.
Speaking of in-laws, The Hubs and I have also decided to tell my in-law's that the baby shower is a whole two hours earlier than indicated on the invitation. We will see how this affects their punctuality.
