Holy Crap

Yes, I realize it's been about a thousand years. The second half of the summer got away from me so fast, obviously.

Here's a brief synopsis of what's been going on:

-Hard at work finding a new job!  Found one, and I LOVE IT. It was hard (kind of ) to leave my old job, but I know it was a move for the best. I have been busy learning everything I can about my new industry, and studying up on what I learned each day during the evenings. I am finally starting to understand things, and hopefully will be better about blogging (since I figured out how to do it via email, yay!)

-My baby's first birthday! In true bad parent form, I totally forgot to take even one picture during the party. But it all went wonderfully. A pink and orange cupcake theme, it was perfect, and all the best people (and my in-laws) were there to help me celebrate! Will try to locate pictures, ASAP.

-Summer vacations! We took our big summer vacay at the beginning of August with my family. It was perfect, and a little less of a "break" than I had envisioned (with an 11-month old), but I wouldn't change a thing. Some of the fun included a Caribbean day, a birthday party for me!, a bachelorette party, and what we are proudly dubbing "A Big Fat Beach Week Wedding" (mock wedding for my cousin, since we won't be attending the wedding).

-Oh, I turned 30. Feck.

-I found out that 30 isn't really that bad.

-We had Irene F everything up for a few days. And she took our power. For a week. Three days before I was hosting a first birthday party at my house.

So it's been a busy few months, trying to get into a normal swing of things. I tried to do some home improvements and DIY decorating things too. Some failed (no power = no power tools, and therefore no project completion). Still working on others. Discovered the best burger recipe, and some other delicious things to eat (like salsa. I have eaten more salsa over the past two months...strange).

Anyway, I hope to get my butt in gear and get you back to your regularly scheduled programming!  Hope you all are well (if you're still reading!!)
