Ladies and gentlemen, may I please introduce Naomi Jacqueline:
She was born on Tuesday, September 7th, at 2:47pm. Here are the stats: 7 lb 14 oz, 21 inches long. 100% perfect.
I began having contractions on Sunday (at my baby shower! - which, I also owe you a post about, I promise...I will get there!). They continued through the night and into Monday, and started getting much more intense. Finally, Monday night, my mother and the Hubs urged me to call the OB and head to the hospital, where I thought they were going to send me home for false labor. Well, they didn't. I labored naturally for hours and hours until Tuesday around noon/one-ish, where the doctor started questioning my progress (I was 90%+ effaced, but dialating slowly and at that point, around 8 cm). An hour later, the doctor came in to assess me again, and it was determined that I would be having a c-section (also, will post later a full birth story, promises). A very short time later, the doctor showed me a an adorable screaming baby covered in goo, and the Hubs said "It's a girl?" in a shocked tone.
She's here, and we are in love. More posts to come soon, we are still trying to figure out her sleeping and feeding patterns and everything else. I hope everyone is doing well, and please accept my apologies in advance for gratuitous baby shots :)
CONGRATULATIONS!!! She's beautiful!!!
