A Note from Bumblef*ck, USA

Soooo, remember the Hubs has 2 sisters?  Well, he received this email today from the one we speak to less often.  She lives in the Middle of Nowhere, Kentucky, with her husband and two kids (son and daughter), and watches other people's kids and animals all day.  Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Please note - the only changes I have made to this email was the names.  All grammar, spelling, formatting, content, etc. is strictly original.

Dear KP and Hubs, I hope the morning sickness period is over with and you are not spending any time in the hospital during the holidays the way we did especially with our first (Son).(HerHusband)'s brothers step daughters oldest son was going to fail freshman year in highschool but hopefully he will pass now because I have been tutoring him after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The two and three year old can write their names, say and write both lower and upper case letters, say and write their numbers 1-20, say the days of the week and months of the year. The three year old can read on at least a first grade level and the other children I help with homework and studying are making A's in school and (Daughter) was selected in a small group of advanced children for some kind of specialty group for children who are excelled in school.According to the teacher whom I bumped into the grocery store said that it was very hard to get into this group and we should be proud but I am not sure if an award is given at the end of the year for being involved or not.In a couple of months (Daughter) will be getting a trophy for being on a softball team.(HerHusband) has promised that next year we can visit and see the baby .Mail me pictures when you can .Always in my thoughts and prayers,(OtherSister)

:-/

So, is it just me, or do you notice she talks more about these other people's kids more than her own?  Strange, no?

Also, is anyone else worried about the grammatical and writing skills she is passing on to these children?

For what it's worth, I did send a response to this email that was thoughtful, and nice, etc.  And uses complete sentences, punctuation, and paragraphs.  I will let you know if I ever receive a reply (unlikely).

  1. Hi :)

I love that you posted this. If she doesn't get an award from the school, she gets one from me for most consecutive run-on sentences. Ugghh, makes my head hurt!
