I miss cocktails.
I liked it. I know it got (and continues to get) awful reviews. But, I have watched the show. I saw the first movie. I didn't have incredibly high hopes for the script in the first place. BUT, there was a lot of fashion and shiny things (duh). And a lot of new, interesting (but predictable) story lines. And I liked it. It was exactly what I expected. If you're looking for the Citizen Kane of the SATC franchise, you're not going to find it here, my friends.
Also, for what it's worth, many of the reviews I did read were all written by men. And they didn't really appreciate it. That is completely, 110% shocking to me. That's sarcasm.
I say, take some girlfriends, some fabulous shoes (you are sitting, after all), and go see it. That's what I did (I had my friend Dr.T with me! Yay!), except for the shoe part. Havianas for me :) If nothing else, you can make fun of Samatha being whory, the gratuitous sexual innuendos, and the ridiculous over the top clothing. I heart couture. And at the same time envy the fashion sense of these women and their boldness for wearing such frocks in public. Speaking of, BONUS: You can also make fun of all the people that go to the movie dressed in their best "SATC" outfits. That's some seriously good stuff. PEOPLE, YOU ARE NOT CARRIE BRADSHAW. YOU SHOULDN'T BE WEARING THAT BOA/MINISKIRT/DANIEL BOONE HAT COMBINATION. If I didn't love popcorn so much, I would have thrown more at movie-goers silly outfits.
