New Year, New Post!

Hope everyone had a Happy New Year!  I am not big on resolutions, since I usually end up breaking them almost immediately, but, there is one I am going to try to keep.  I am going to stop procrastinating.  If I say I am going to take care of something, well dammit, I intend to do it.

And, since I promised photos of my Christmas decorating and set up, I figured I better get those up before the whole Christmas Season is officially over (I have until January 6th, back off).

This is the front of the house, with the wreaths.  I would have tried to get a better picture, like, when it snowed, but, it was probably cold outside, and I am a wimp without proper winter attire, so I generally shy away from the cold and the outdoors in general.  Sorry for the random shadows, too.  Be jealous of all the morning sun my house gets :)

Here's an up-close of the wreaths on the window.  This is my favorite part of decorating for Christmas, because every time I pull up to the house in my car, I am reminded!  There's also some candles hidden in the centers of the wreaths that are lit at night.  Love it.  If you're wondering what was hanging on the front door, it was some kind of holly berry thing from Michaels.  I was very hesitant to hang a round wreath, since our door has the three glass windows at an angle...I thought a circular decoration would look weird.  So I tied a bow around my holly berry thing, and it looked like this - on the green door too...SO Christmassy!

Here's the grand tree set up.  We're still finishing the living room area, and there's only a sofa and a TV in there.  The fact that there was no other furniture made putting up the tree in there the obvious choice.  Please excuse all the red, it's my favorite color (next to pink, of course), and I am kind of obsessed with it.

Now, my dining room.  This room has literally been through hell and back.  Please, keep in mind that the room used to look like this:

After much sanding (that was all the Hubs), painting, fireplace-demo-ing, granite installing, carpet pulling up, more painting, light installing, and furniture moving, this is what the room looked like for Christmas:

(The china cabinet is all empty because immediately before decorating for Christmas, we had the laminate flooring done in this room.  So, because of that, we were moving furniture in and out of this room.  The china cabinet was one of those things.  And frankly, I didn't really care to put everything back in it.  So there are just some red decorative Christmas balls, and my Grandmother's crystal in it at this point.)

So, there's my little post about Christmas decorating.  I hope you can appreciate this flashback to the holidays, since it's already the doom and gloom (and frickin' freezing temperatures) of January.  I  hope I can do more fun posts like this!
