Movie Review!

So, last night, the Hubs and I took advantage of Discount Tuesdays at the local multiplex, and went to see J.ulie & J.ulia.

I loved it. Like, LOVED IT. I know it had the potential to be a complete "chick flick", but I think it held it's own pretty well. (Even though he had to make jokes throughout the entire film. Some of them were even funny!) First of all, I LOVE cooking. I would like to think I am pretty good at it too! And I really feel like I could relate to the main character, Julie. After all, don't we ALL feel like we get stuck in a rut from time to time and need some thing to believe in to get us out? In the movie, Julie turns to J.ulia C.hild's cookbook "M.astering the Art of F.rench Cook.ing" and blogging about her adventures to give her something to accomplish and help jump start her literary career.

The film intertwined the lives of the two women, using poignant and emotional situations to draw parallels to their two completely different and separate lives.
My absolute favorite part of the movie was how you could tell just how much Julia loved her husband and her cooking. The movie was adapted from biographies and old letters and of course, Julie's book and blog. But you could tell that Julia was a joy to be around, and people adored her, before she was famous and everything. I found the movie inspiring ... and of course I cried. I can't go see a movie with out crying. But, whatever. Julie is right. No matter how bad and crappy of a day you have had, you can always come home and know that you can add eggs to .....
Hold up. I was just doing some random googling (always dangerous), and I came across J.ulie Powe.ll's actual blog. NOT THAT IMPRESSED ANY MORE. She's snarky and uses words so effectively, kind of how I want to come across. UGH. Can't beleive I was brainwashed by Am.y A.dams!
