Things My Husband Says (Out of This World Edition)

I was chatting with my husband the other night, while watching television news coverage of the space shuttle launch.

I asked him, if I just had just been shot, and was currently undergoing intensive rehabilitation, would he (could he) justify blasting off to space and leaving me on my own?

Of course we went back and forth on the subject.

His argument was that I would be in good hands, etc.

Mine was that I am a girl, and his wife, and I would want him by my side.

He countered that he might need the money from his job as astronaut to pay for my rehabilitation.

I suggested that if he was an astronaut, we probably had adequate medical coverage.

Finally he said, "Maybe this is why I am going into space! Because you won't quit! And I have to be as far away as possible!"

(I know he jokes, but I am 100% positive that if I needed him there, I know he would be there. I know this because he's done it before. And before, I was just having a measly gall bladder removed. And he skipped his weekend camping trip with his buddies.  It's cool, you can do a collective "awwwww" now.)
